Sen-no-RikyuWP (千利休WP?), Class Name Berserker (バーサーカー, Bāsākā?), is a Berserker-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order. She comprises the First Ascension and Second Ascension of the Saint Graph, Komahime comprising the Third Ascension.
Profile[]
Identity[]
A widely renowned merchant and tea master from the Sengoku period to the Azuchi–Momoyama period. His childhood name was Tanaka Yoshiro, later taking the Buddhist name Sen Soeki. He was also known as Hosensai and Koji.
Known as the one who perfected ‘Wabi-cha’, he rejected the established values that emphasized specialties and released revolutionary values and innovations through his tea.
He was also a close associate of the daimyo of the time, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and had a hidden influence over various feudal lords.
A wealthy merchant in Saki, Rikyu was employed by Oda Nobunaga as a tea master. He used his skills not only for tea ceremonies but also to help procure guns and other items.
After the Honnoji Incident, he served under Hideyoshi, and had a great influence on politics through his tea ceremonies, such as serving as a mediator between various feudal lords.
He perfected Wabi-cha, a new system of values that was limited to traditional tea ceremonies, and his own tea ceremony became known throughout the world through his many disciples, the Rikyu Shichitetsu. However, his excessive influence began to cause friction with Hideyoshi, and Rikyu’s position both inside and out of the Toyotomi regime became gradually more isolated.
Rikyu’s tea, filled with new values unbound by tradition and formality, was world-renowned. However, his arrogant attitude, uncompromising in the pursuit of spreading his values, incurred the wrath of the Hideyoshi, who eventually ordered him to commit sepukku.
After she was executed for her alleged involvement in Hidetsugu’s rebellion, Komahime’s soul wandered endlessly before meeting Rikyu in a ‘certain place’ and merging together, allowing her to obtain the Spirit Origin of a Heroic Spirit.
This is Rikyu’s vengeance against Hideyoshi, taking the form of Komahime serving as a strong blow against the daimyo.
Rikyu, who manifested in order to avenge the weak and innocent who were unjustly killed, failed to realize that she was also trapped within a delusion.
The kind-hearted Komahime felt sympathy for Rikyu’s madness and deep-rooted delusion and wished to be with him, resulting in Rikyu and Komahime becoming one spirit…
Appearance[]
As a man, he used to tower Oda Nobunaga. However, as a Servant, he has been summoned using the body of Komahime, a teenage girl.[2]
Personality[]
Rikyu's favorite color is black.[3]
Relationships[]
- Oda Nobunaga (Archer) / Oda Nobunaga (Avenger)
- "It has been a while, Lord Nobunaga. Huh? Why do you look so surprised? Oh, you mean my appearance? Well, my appearance may have changed, but I am unchanged on the inside. We can say the same thing about you, can we not?"[4]
- Oda Nobunaga (Swimsuit)
- "Lord Nobunaga, what is that getup of yours? What? A swimsuit? Rock and roll? I do not understand those words, but your appearance is indescribably amusing. Huh? You would like to dance a Rikyu boogie-woogie with me? Hahaha, you have not changed, Lord Nobunaga. I decline."[4]
- Mori Nagayoshi
- "Why, if it isn't Lord Nagayoshi. It has been a while. By the way, how is your pursuit of refinement going? I would like to see how your tea ceremony training with Master has been going. Oh, there is no need to bring me a head you took."[4]
- Yamanami Keisuke
- "Lord Yamanami. I would like to apologize for all the trouble I caused back then. This may not make up for it, but perhaps you can call all your comrades...everyone from the Shinsengumi. I would like to extend an invitation to a tea ceremony. Do not worry. I will not forget to prepare some superior takuan."
- Iyo
- "Ah, Miss Iyo. Do you have business with me? Huh? Matcha latte? Y-you would ask such a thing of me? Very well. I shall prepare the best matcha latte you have ever tasted."
- Kiara Sessyoin (Alter Ego) / Kiara Sessyoin (MoonCancer)
- "Ah, Miss Sessyoin. I...well, it may not be my place to say this, but karma has certainly led you down an interesting path. Rikyu is astonished. Fufu...one day I would like to meet you over a cup of tea."[4]
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
GUDAGUDA Shin Yamatai-koku[]
[5][2][6][7][8][9][3][10][11][12]
Abilities[]
Sen-no-Rikyu's tea is capable of cancelling out the effects of the Ancestral Beast's Black Blood.[2][3][10] It grants those who drink it the Magic Resistance required to endure the poison by harmonizing both their body and Soul.[2]
Combat[]
Sen-no-Rikyu claims that he is not strong enough to deal with creatures like Kukochihiko's Beastmen because he is a mere tea ceremony master.[2] However, this isn't true. Rikyu spent years gathering wandering Souls to turn them into a darkness she could weaponize and sacrifice to the Ancestral Beast.[3] While similar to the Dark Blight, it is heavier and even darker.[9] The darkness resembles a black mud, and Rikyu can sink people inside it as shown with Oda Nobunaga.[8] It can also be used to restrain people's feet, as shown with Okita Souji and Saitou Hajime. Finally, it was capable of shielding Rikyu by absorbing the weapons of his attackers.[9][3]
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Mad Enhancement (Sabi) (EX Rank)
- Territory Creation (Wabi) (A Rank)
- Artistic Aesthetic (Tea) (A Rank)
- Unfettered and Flexible (B Rank): Rikyū, who believed that there was no etiquette in the tea ceremony, was free in her creativity. She is both magnanimous and arrogant, putting her own values above all else.[1]
Personal Skills[]
- Finest Wabi (A- Rank): Rikyū's lifelong pursuit of the ultimate Wabi-cha that has yet to be attained. A black tea ceremony drawn from the abyss of the Monster of Wabi, Rikyū.[1]
- A Lone Flower (B Rank): The world is but a single flower. A manifestation of Rikyū's arrogant will, who pays no attention to anything outside of the value that she draws from it.[1]
- Profound Black (A Rank): To Rikyū, black is considered the most supreme color. A representation of Rikyū's deep-seeded delusion and madness to paint over everything and bring about a world of blackness.[1]
Noble Phantasm[]
Sen-no-Rikyu's Noble Phantasm is One Moment, One Meeting. Sen-no-Rikyu's teahouse is a Bounded Field.[2] It is a conceptual Noble Phantasm that turns things he desires into Magical Energy to power it, for example, money. However, the magical energy consumption is extremely high.[6]
Forms and Alternate Versions[]
Komahime[]
During the climax of the Shin Yamatai-koku Singularity, Sen-no-Rikyu manifested in his final Ascension using Komahime's true form.[3]
Abilities[]
In this form, Rikyu still has access to the dark Souls he drew into his body for years. Kukochihiko tried to kill him with a surprise attack, but he just absorbed the former's Sword of the Beast into his own body. Rengoku was capable of burning away Rikyu's darkness with Absolute Sword - Endless Three-Stage, although it was only able to keep it in check for a short period of time. Oda Nobunaga told Okita Souji, Saitou Hajime, Himiko, and Chacha to retreat, as they couldn't possibly finish him off at the time. However, Rikyu stopped them by exerting a great pressure that prevented even Rengoku from stabilizing his power. It was only thanks to Chacha using Dazzling Castle of the Sun in the Demonic Realm that everyone managed to escape.[3]
During the final fight, Okita Souji, Saitou Hajime, and Yamanami Keisuke, powered by their respective Coat of Oaths and working together, were capable of holding back Rikyu while Oda Nobunaga and Iyo weakened the Ancestral Beast. Rikyu was incapable of breaking through the Shinsengumi's certain death formation.[10]
Super Sen-no-Rikyu[]
He is the champion of the very first Grand Kitano Tea Martial Arts Tournament. He has spent thousands upon thousands of years perfecting the art of tea ceromony. He took this form after leaving Komahime's frail body thanks to the Holy Grail.[12]
Development[]
- Mori Nagayoshi mentions Sen-no-Rikyu multiple times during the events of the Sengoku Singularity in 2019.
Creation and Conception[]
Sen-no-Rikyu was designed by Shikiso in Fate/Grand Order.
