Shiki Ryougi (両儀 式, Ryōgi Shiki?), Class Name Saber (セイバー, Seibā?), is a Saber-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.
Profile[]
Identity[]
The woman whom Ritsuka Fujimaru and crew gotten a glimpse of during the irregular singularity, the Boundary. Due to the uncertainty of her own existence, she wishes to remain uninvolved in strange cases, even when she knows the details about them.[1]
A distinguished individual one would not normally meet. But—in the opposite case, it would be on a snowy day, while everyone is asleep.[1]
She’s the same person as Shiki Ryougi, the girl who wears a jacket over her kimono. However, their personalities are different. If Shiki Ryougi is the girl known as 「Shiki」, then this person is the woman known as「Shiki Ryougi」. The personality of the body itself, embodying 「 」 that represents the beginning. She slumbers within Shiki from her birth to her death. Shiki can't perceive 「Shiki Ryougi」, and 「Shiki Ryougi」 will never take Shiki's place.[1]
Appearance[]
Shiki Ryougi (Saber) cuts an impressive and striking figure, embodying a blend of elegance and lethal precision. She is depicted wearing a traditional white kimono that flows gracefully around her, accentuated by a deep blue obi (belt) adorned with intricate patterns. The kimono is meticulously designed, with wide sleeves that emphasize her movements and the air of traditional refinement she exudes. Underneath the kimono, a hint of red can be seen, adding a splash of color that highlights her dynamic and multifaceted nature. Her short, ink-black hair frames her face, enhancing her piercing black eyes, which convey a sense of calm and focused determination. Her pale skin contrasts beautifully with the dark hair and the white of her kimono, giving her an ethereal, almost otherworldly presence. In her hand, she wields a katana, the Kanesada Kuji, which symbolizes her deadly efficiency and precision in combat. The sword is held confidently, indicating her readiness and skill as a warrior. Shiki is barefoot, which adds to the traditional aesthetic and suggests a connection to the earth and her surroundings, enhancing her graceful and fluid movements. Overall, her appearance is a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese elegance and the poised, deadly precision of a seasoned fighter, capturing the essence of her character as both a refined and formidable Saber-class Servant.
Personality[]
A deeper level of consciousness, created from Shiki Ryougi’s dual personality. A female personality, in her late twenties. A calm and understanding older sister. The Shiki who grew until the late twenties and has begun to give out maternal charm. One may get the feeling that she’s detached from worldly affairs, but actually, she simply has no sense of crisis, as everything is like “part of Shiki's dream”; for her, everything is taken in as “a view across the glass.” The image of “a goddess who descended on Earth through some sort of mistake.” An oriental goddess rather than a western goddess. Though her aspect is close to the Merciful Bodhisattva, her underlying personality is that of a meanie. One could say she is an Impish Bodhisattva. She denies the view of human nature as fundamentally good. “Since humanity at its core is evil, things tends to turn out for the worse” she says while sighing, “So please do your best, ok?” Cheering mankind’s stubborn endurance with a supportive smile, for that is her stance on the matter. Truly troublesome.[1]
Sorry to say, but her cat-attribute has decreased a little.[2]
Despite being listless, Shiki is gentle. An invincible older sister who knows everything, yet doesn't say anything meaningful and just enjoys meaningless talks. She is an exceedingly feminine character, but her way of being is that of a little girl. So that one doesn't feel saddened when he or she wakes up from the dream and disappears from her side, Shiki - who is nothing more than an illusion - will not leave behind any meaningful memories.[2]
Although she was summoned by an odd coincidence, Shiki decides to follow the Protagonist as a good Servant. Almost like a pleasure trip, so to speak. For she who could neither be found nor talked to by anyone, what exactly could come out of this temporary rendezvous?[1]
Relationships[]
- Shiki Ryougi (Assassin)
- "Oh, I see that Shiki is here. ...My oh my, I guess she will never be a social person. I doubt she can see me, so make sure you don't slip up, ok?"[3]
- Fujino Asagami (Archer)
- "Ara. So you summoned Fujino-san, too. Be Careful... That woman is like a supercell of a storm. She can go completely wild without any warning whatsoever. She is really a natural disaster...or perhaps a lover who is like a monster."[3]
- Mysterious Heroine X
- "She is so cute. By the way, I want to cut her."[1]
- Minamoto-no-Raikou
- "Since we are both sword-based Servants, it would be nice to have a bout with her. I can sense the influence of her demonic self residing in her mind. Somehow, I relate to that feeling."[1]
- Xuanzang Sanzang
- Shiki can't hold her excitement after hearing about priest Sanzou. "If I'm not mistaken, that's the Buddhist fist style from Nyorai-sama himself. Well then... can you catch my blade with your bare hands?"[1]
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
Event: The Garden of Order[]
「Shiki」first encounters Ritsuka when their dream brings them to a place without boundaries. She tells them to go back to where they came from, saying those with names don't belong. Ritsuka tells her they didn't come by choice. 「Shiki」realizes their connection was established from her side and apologizes. She is asleep, so she is unaware of what's going outside, but she takes a guess. She'd like to talk about Ritsuka's future, but the dream is almost over. She asks them to call her by her name if they meet again.[4]
She later takes over Shiki Ryougi's body when she and the others encounter a powerful ghost born from human resentment outside the apartment. She refutes Mephistopheles's assumption it's a Monster of Gaia, saying it is a defective Monster of Alaya. She says it's the fault of the land that such a powerful ghost manifested, wondering if this is where that mage died. After destroying the ghost, 「Shiki」returns Shiki's body to her.[5]
When Ritsuka's party confronts Mysterious Heroine X, 「Shiki」takes control of Shiki's body again in response to X saying she's come to fight a Saber. She finds it rare to face a being from outer space and wishes to see what X can do before she gets tired of her. Terrified of her, X claims she had the wrong person and asks to be allowed to go home. But she is forced to fight Shiki when her emergency warp fails. After X retreats, 「Shiki」is disappointed she missed her chance to slash someone from the stars. She says she'll start by cutting X's hair strand next time, aware that's asking X to die. She then returns Shiki's body to her.[6]
Final Singularity: Solomon[]
「Shiki」 is among the "special event" Servants to assist Chaldea against the Demon Gods Pillars. She reappears when X declares that she will destroy all Sabers, attempting to cut her down.[7]
Abilities[]
Mysterious Heroine X is usually protected by the rules of the Cosmos Dimension (comedy characters can't die). However, Shiki Ryougi, whose manner is serious and menacing, can ignore this rule, making X fear for her life and try to escape when meeting her. Shiki defeated X before she could do so, although X claims that as long as she isn't a blonde Saber it doesn't count.[6] Mysterious Heroine X states that she senses the same aura from Miyamoto Musashi as she did from Shiki.[8]
