The Shingon Tachikawa Eiten School (真言立川詠天流?), also known as Shingon Tachikawa Eternal Heaven Sect, is a branch of Shingon Tachikawa School Buddhism that converted into a cult following Kiara Sessyoin in the late 2010s.
History[]
In the World of Fate/EX, the Shingon Tachikawa Eiten School was a branch of the Shingon Tachikawa sect that survived up until 2030. Even after the Overcount 1999 of 1970, the sect engaged in the practice of old world magecraft theory. Essentially a "living fossil," it was a small community created in a remote mountain area far from prying eyes. In 2018, it took the initiative to reinvent its teachings, and revived itself as a new-world magus organization that had adapted to the internet society of modern times. As a cult, it rapidly increased its followers, but due to overly fast expansion, there were internal power struggles, so in 2020, it stopped all activities. Members of this religious community fought each other to the death, and it is said that the bodies of the dead followers still lie in plain view in its former headquarter in the mountains.[1]
In another Parallel World, EMIYA Alter was the one who put an end to the cult, as he killed a lot of the innocent followers while trying to kill Kiara Sessyoin.[2]
Characteristics[]
As a branch Shingon Tachikawa Buddhism, the cult's foundational doctrine and technique is reaching enlightenment by the union of male and female.[3] As with the larger Shingon Tachikawa Buddhism, the sect adhered to three inviolable precepts: "women must not lay with women", "one must not reject enlightenment", and "one may not steal from one's master a tool of their craft". And while they do not subscribe to the Ten Grave PreceptsWP, they share the view that women cannot attain enlightenment, unless they seek a particular vow to be reborn as men but it violates Shingon Tachikawa's first precept.[4] Its teachings also revere and worship DakinitenWP,[5] who is identified with the Vairocana Buddha and Amaterasu-oh-mikami.[3]
The cult offered righteous salvation, creating a movement of people lacking a desire for profit and absent of political affiliation.[2] As such, its believers were comprised of people from everywhere: scientists, politicians, those in power, people the world over. It was a movement of wounded souls and talented loners, all unable to find their own place in the world, despite having the talent and the genius to save the whole world. So much of that world viewed them with nothing more than suspicion.[2]
There was nothing evil about the group, and not an evil soul to be found among them, with the exception of the woman who founded it.[2]

Shingo Tachikawa is a branch of Shingon Vajrayana (Shingon secret tantra teachings) that is based on “Rishu-kyo” and its teachings revere dakini-deity.
In the Kamakura era, a high monk of Shigon Buddhism, Ninkan, failed in an attempted assassination of Emperor Toba (Eikyuu Era [Eternal Era]) and was exiled to Izu as punishment. It is said that there, in the province of Musashi, Ninkan gave birth to the fundamental systems of Shingon Tachikawa in cooperation with the Onmyouji (spiritual medium) Kenren (from Tachikawa).
After that, the Tachikawa Sect spread and prospered to the point where it came to be the largest faction within Shingon Buddhism.
Furthermore, with the decline of the Kamakura Shogunate in sight, the Tachikawa Sect schemed to have the Imperial Family change its loyalties to prioritize Tachikawa over other sects. Emperor Godaigo, who mastered the secrets of Tachikawa, starting from Yoshino, spread it across the lands of the Southern Dynasty. After that, the Tachikawa Sect teachings were almost always present with the Southern Dynasty.
So with the decline of the Southern Dynasty, the Tachikawa Sect also fell into ruin.
…The suppression of the Tachikawa Sect didn’t occur because it was heretic or there was some problem with it’s teachings, it was due to its connection with the Southern Dynasty. Mount. Koya (the birth place of Koya-san Shingon Buddhism) lies within the territory of the Northern Dynasty, and almost all the authority figures in Koya held contempt for the Tachikawa Sect, and has all the Tachikawa scriptures destroyed.
