Bedivere's gender in the original Fate Stay Night anime (Studio Deen adaption)[]

Given that Bedivere was voiced by a female in both Japanese and English, wouldn't it be correct to assume that Bedivere is indeed a female in that specific adaption? After all, Saber is referred to as a king (a word strictly used to refer to a male dominator), but is actually a female. Same argument could be used for Bedivere. Sk8erPrince (talk) 15:47, November 30, 2016 (UTC)

Not really. The actress who voiced Bedivere in the Japanese version used a really deep tone, which is what they usually do when voicing young, male characters (see Pak Romi when voicing Edward Elric). It's possible that the intent was too have a "very young pretty boy" vibe to it with no MIyano Mamoru around to have this pulled perfectly (seriously, I don't like the guy's voice but he is perfect for that kind of characters).

Point is, it doesn't make Deen's Bedi a female (I never take dubs in account) but there's no sure way to tell unless asking the voice director himself -- Hitsuji Mamoru (talk) 06:35, December 1, 2016 (UTC)

Did Bedivere even have an official gender at the time? He was only a minor character. Picking a woman doing a deep voice was probably playing it safe in case it went either way. 93.15.49.188 20:05, December 1, 2016 (UTC)
