TYPE-MOON Wiki

I recommend dumping the current profile and using translated ones from the status menu or Side Material.

I'd even say we cut the whole long story about her background down to one or two sentences and just link to an article about the mythological Medea (Wikipedia is usually good for classical subjects like this), and just note the differences the Nasu interpretation has from the classical one (in this case, I don't see any, but for Saber etc this is important); it's not all that relevant to the Fate/stay night character, and the details are beyond the scope of this wiki as they don't directly influence the storyline. -- grm_wnr Esc 17:08, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
This is the summary of that huge section which only shows parts that are relevant to Caster's personality in F/SN: her bad luck in love (betrayed by two men she loved), her malice (killed her lover's new wife and her father, as well as her own two children) and her final sacrifice that may have made her a Heroic Spirit.
I think this can be cut even more, but I believe it represents her background better than that tl;dr article on Wikipedia. We can use either that or the two-sentence option...

The Eirei that is summoned as Caster was known as MedeaWP during her lifetime. Under the tutelage of her father, King Aeëtes of Colchis , she became a skilled sorceress, but lived a quiet, peaceful life until the arrival of Jason and the Argonauts on their quest for the Golden Fleece.
Under the influence of god Eros, she falls madly in love with Jason and plays a key role in acquiring the Golden Fleece. She then leaves with Jason and bares him two children. Supporting her husband with her skills, she helps him in reclaiming his rightful title as the king of Iolcos, going as far as murdering his uncle who has usurped the throne.
After they were both exiled from Iolcos, Jason abandons her for the sake of strengthening his political bonds with marriage to Glauce, the daughter of Creon, the king of Corinth. Enraged and in pain, she gives Glauce cursed robes as a wedding gift. Upon wearing them, Glauce bursts into flames and her father dies refusing to stop embracing his only daughter. To complete her revenge to Jason, she kills their children and flees to Athens.
There she marries King Aegeus of Athens and lives a blissful and happy life, giving birth to a son she names Medus. After recognizing Theseus, the lost son of Aegeus in a newcomer to Athens, she attempts to kill him in order to ensure her son's inheritance to the throne. King Aegeus recognizes his son in the last moment and exiles Medea and Medus from Athens.
Having nowhere to go, they return to Colchis, Medea's homeland, only to find her father murdered and his brother Perses claiming the throne. In order to save his son, who was imprisned by Perses to protect his position, Medea allows herself to be sacrificed to gods, only to assassinate her uncle with her last breath during the ceremony.
Her sacrifice allows Medus to claim the throne and in her honor he later names a conquered nearby country.

Reading that, I believe we do need more than two sentences after all, though it wouldn't hurt if it were a bit shorter still. Anyway, when I'm already here I'd like to hear what other people think about the show/hide function the Servant template has at the moment. Good idea (even in general) or not? -- grm_wnr Esc 01:30, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
I think it looks great, as it prevents the character box from getting bloated. Just a few suggestions for the template:

  • Please add the field for Japanese name of the spirit. If for no other reason, to write Kojirou's name.

  • Also, what about Noble Phantasms? Their page has links to particular NPs, so maybe we could remove them from main Servant articles, and add the field for links to their particular pages to the template. Suggestions?

Done and done. I originally intended to keep it as short as possible, but if it remains hideable that is not a big problem anymore. -- grm_wnr Esc 16:09, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

This is probably answered in some material I haven't seen yet, but in the Mirror Moon translation of Fate, it lists Argon Coin on the status page as an EX Rank Skill capable of summoning a dragon. So is it a skill or a Noble Phantasm? --Twelveseal 08:26, December 23, 2009 (UTC)

Argon's Coin is the golden fleece that Jason and the Argonaut's obtained. The user can summon out the dragon by throwing it on the ground and using an incantation to summon out a dragon. Caster doesn't know the incantation so she doesn't know how to use it.

That's the problem. In the Mythology it's an item, and it sounds like an item, but in the Game, it's listed as an Skill with an EX rank. It's the only skill she has besides High Speed Divine Words. So is it genuinely a skill, or a Noble Phantasm? --Twelveseal 06:27, January 11, 2010 (UTC)

?? The item is the fleece/coin, and the skill is the ability to summon the dragon from the coin. Caster has the fleece, but not the ability to control dragons. That skill would be a Noble Phantasm if she had it. --Byakko 16:29, January 11, 2010 (UTC)

Celaeno

In the abilities section, Celaeno uses the same kanji as Aero. Is that right? The kanji for Celaeno there are also different from the ones used in the Unlimited Codes section. G-SANtos (talk) 15:25, October 29, 2015 (UTC)

Abilities Correction ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hiya, so the Divine words part of this is incorrect? technically the words themselves didnt really hold the power. its much more complicated. i talked to a huge fate fan who translates japenese to english and she explained it like this to me: Divine words are a system of request and recieve which were inacted in the AOG( age of gods). Basically a god or goddess would choose a magus to hold their system ( the divine words) to ask them for things like a request for a phenomina to occure and then the god/goddess would make it happen(if its reasonable). Because in fate atleast the gods were there own entities yes; but they were aswell The things they Ruled over, Ex: Poseidon god, god of sea would literally be the sea so if you had his system of divine words blessed upon u by him; you'd Be able to create phenomina using water. Medea had the System of divine words from hecate, Hecate being the goddess of magic ( Magic Meaning miracles just in general phenominca) Her divine words limited to nearly nothing; as long as its not impossible by the eyes of  gaia/the systems of nature, The divine words request will be Answered and given.

Though since the gods had gone off to the reverse side of the world, the words still work by instead of asking the gods which they ruled over the certain thing, They'd ask the thing it rules over coming out with the same thing basically just instead of the god giving what was asked it would be gaia/the systems of nature.

Ex: if medea were to say " fire ball" in the divine language, gaia/the systems of nature that work with fire and such, would  decide if the person has the Ranking permission to request such a thing.-They would realize yes as the divine language permits them to do it. and they will summon/create the fireball for the person. Either using the mana around them or the persons own mana.

This is allowed as long as the Requested phenomina is not impossible; because that would go to the level of true magic and Even with divine wordss the systems of nature/gaia would not give you that. The higher the scale of reaction, power etc.. is decided by how much influence you have over the systems of nature.

Now for the second thing.  The part in her wiki that says she cant use her argon coin( the golden fleece) i believe to be incorrect? I watched the blueray version were they added a special extra scene of her exact summoming. With atrum, i will now reanact it; i watched it a while ago so i dont remember the exact exact words but it goes basically like this.

Aturm: (praise word) i recieved a powerful caster capable of summoning a dragon as their Noble phantasm.

Medea:Why thank you master.. but you see, While i am able to summon the dragon; I can not control it.

End-

She clearly stated herself that she can summon it. im not sure where everyone gets that she cant. let me know if i'm wrong tho.

A) tell me tho, that explanation about Divine Words? Where did it come from. Its not in SN nor in any mats that im aware of. This is why the post got undo, because we dont know where that info comes from because it isnt in anything we have. If you talk to that friend again ask where that info comes from, because it isnt in any translated TM products we have so far. If its a mention from a Case Files thats good but so far ive heard nothing about this other then now
As for golden fleece, yes i watched that to, i also watched it again and saw no mention of it. Different tls of the anime. So far from what is saw the dub doesnt say anything about it so its probably something added from the translator end but if someone can understand it pls feel free to correct me. So far though the info we have now comes from the VN and Material. That she doesnt have the means to summom it in the first place.
Also Rule Breaker not working on NPs. That was something mentioned in the SN. That it wasnt powerful enough to do so.Iceblade44:Sieg (talk) 02:50, July 5, 2018 (UTC)

Mk thanks for the info. And yea; Do i put the Info from her here? SHe made a long post about it. She found the info in the Fate book stuff the information thingies,  i dont know their specific names she's the smart one lol. Do i put it here? or on your page? idk. I keep trying to ask "EGGS" the one who removes what i say, I'm new and i dont really know how to make citations for proof.

put it here, if we know what the source is then that would be good. I can figure out citations and reformat the info. I just need to figure out where the info this girl is taking from if that is alrigt
