is there any sword form of hrunting just like caladbolgII? i hope that there will be a picture of hrunting not on its arrow form.. i wonder what it looks like?

The whole concept of arrow form/sword form for Archer's Noble Phantasms is something introduced for the TV anime and movie. Thus is not necessarily cannon. Since Nasu never did any input on this particular piece of brainstorm, it is best to just go that there is no such a thing and that Archer actually fires his Broken Phantasms in their original sword designs. Then again, in the instance of Calabolg II, it's been specifically pointed out that it was "edited" to be more fit to be shot as a Broken Phantasm. We haven't seen that specification for Hrunting, but then again, we know nearly nothing about Hrunting period. That said, there is indeed only one form for "Caladbolg II", no such thing as "one sword form and one arrow form", so similarly, as far as we're concerned within Type-Moonverse, the only form of Hrunting that exists at all is the one we know.
... Oh, and then again, it can easily be pointed out that shooting something like Caladbolg II from a bow is physically inconceivable, as the cone shape alone should instantly deviate the sword from the aiming point as it pushes against the bow the instant it is shot (and let's not even mention Hrunting's spikes shredding the bow in a blink), so the anime inventing an "arrow form" actually makes more sense than the game. But from that viewpoint, you can just as well say that all the swords transformed that way are just turned into simple arrows, period, so there's nothing really important in showing both forms of either specific swords. --Byakko 16:33, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
Well, from what I've read [in mythology itself] Caladbolg as supposed to be a two-handed sword of light or lightning, so Caladbolg II is obviously a major modification to that design. Hrunting on the other hand was described as "a rare and ancient sword | with its ill-boding patterns | tempered in blood" and I have heard of it being described as having barbs. Swords of the era had sharper edges than points, as slashing and hacking attacks were more effective than thrusting ones. --Jaften 14:13, September 29, 2010 (UTC)
Not sure if Nasu thought of the whole arrow/sword form after the anime or had that idea from the beginning but we do have this... from Realta Nua and I think that's Caladbolg II's arrow form and judging by the handle it seems to have retained some of it's original shape. Not sure how helpful this might be. 16:37, October 9, 2010 (UTC)

thanks for the info..

Bridge battle question Edit

I think this part is wrong:

He can shoot it over five times in a row, and he adds more prana to charge the shot each time. The second shot has a charging interval of twenty seconds, and the time increases after he places more power into it, with twenty-five seconds for the third and thirty for the fourth. He can further adjust and charge the shot by taking five more seconds.

Where did it say that first 4 arrows were Hrunting? They didn't show their homing quality, and they they were deflected by Saber with no effect.

It's noted that every shot is a BP, every arrow uses the same CG that is used for Hrunting, and there is no indication that Hrunting was especially used for just for the fifth shot. The fifth shot is deflected just like the others during Dead Bridge (II), so she seems to be destroying them so the can't do anything else. EGGS 16:08, January 18, 2012 (UTC)

Grendel's MotherEdit

"the sword used by Beowulf to kill the mother of Grendel."

did you get this from some source of TYPE-MOON or by Nasu? since, in actualy mythology, it wasn't Hrunting that killed Grendel's mother, it was a giant sword Vergilheartnet (talk) 11:46, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Blood-Drain Edit

Was there any particular effect to the blood being drawn out of the body, or does it just do that as an effect for nothing? I ask, because it doesn't say if it increases damage per amount of blood drawn, or what. Zahadrin (talk) 22:06, March 8, 2017 (UTC)

Materials doesn't mention anything. Maybe it's necessary for it to evolve into its 3rd ascension shape. But that's just my headcanon.
