Reien Girl's Academy[]
Yeah, I am going to have to ask for a source on Reien Girl's Academy being in Misaki Town. I admit, I may just be misremembering, but Kara no Kyoukai doesn't make any mention of the Academy being in another town, and indeed, several plot events in Chapters 3 and 6 make no sense if it's set in another town, unless Misaki Town and Mifune are so close to each other that you can just walk from one to the other in a reasonable amount of time.--Otherarrow (talk) 11:58, June 24, 2013 (UTC)
- I also thought that Reien Girl's Academy was in Mifune City but after researching, I'm very sure that it was located in Misaki Town. Mahou Tsukai no Yoru mentioned that Reien Girl's Academy is located in Misaki Town and Alice commutes from home. I don't think the kara no kyoukai novels mention about Misaki Town but looking in depth in the animated film:
- In the 6th film, Shiki had to travel on train back to Mifune City.
- The scenery in the film shows the school to be located in the countryside where it is covered with forest and mountains, this is exactly how Misaki Town is pictured in Mahou.
- Since it is located away from the city, the school provides dormitory and this explains Azaka less screening time in the films due to the distance.
- Touko grown up in Misaki Town and attended to the school, this was mentioned in Character Material book. Nikonu (talk)
- Ah OK. I'll be honest, Mahoyo mentioning it would have been good enough for me. I don't know if it being mentioned in KnK without it being pointed out as in another town was supposed to be retconning it as being in Mifune or if we are supposed to just "know" that it was in Misaki Town (which is...problematic, since Mahoyo wasn't released at the time), but either way the films caught it and added the bits with scenery and the train to establish where it is in relation to everything else. Sorry for the trouble, and thanks. (On another note, Alice being able to commune from home does kinda contradict what we know about the school from KnK, which points out that normally, students are only allowed to leave the premise for holidays and that Azaka and Fujino are exceptions. - It really is unclear if Reien Girl's Academy is in Misaki or Mifune. The school is said to be in the suburbs of Misaki, but then you see in KnK it tells you can take the Mifune city bus (or take a cab) to Reien.
- It is likely that Misaki and Mifune are right beside each other, with Reien in the suburb area between the two cities. Waifu slayer (talk) 05:48, June 25, 2013 (UTC)
