It's not a weapon but a Noble Phantasm, technically... Since there's no category for that, I suppose we can consider the NPs to be weapons ? That or the NP article is made into a category. Byakko 17:15, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I'd personally be for making 'Noble Phantasms' a category on their own, because a Noble Phantasm is not necessarily a weapon. Twelve Labors, Rho Aias, etc.
Personally, I'd think putting a link to Noble Phantasms in Weapons would work.
- OK then. There's a category "Noble Phantasms" into which all NPs will be categorized, it is counted in the "Weapons" category, and there's also an article "Noble Phantasm". Byakko 17:52, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

- Dragon-gata is referring to the type of lasers. Kinoko's inferring that the lasers are actually shaped like dragons.
- Oh :S It didn't seem to make much sense to me when I read it, so I figured I got it wrong (and the "phantasmal beast such as dragons" seemed more logical), but... Fixed. Byakko 21:37, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

I do not believe the Noble Phantasm was actually named "Nine Lives". The actual weapon should be "Bow of Hydra", which was mentioned in the Fate route. Also, I believe that "Nine Lives" was an incomplete version of the actual Noble Phantasm "technique" that Shirou was able to make use of with his limited prana/circuits... nine lives --- 27 circuits... however, Shirou doesn't have too much prana, so that might have been why he was only able to get off eight strikes? More of Nasu's oddness... --70.63.140.61 01:40, October 20, 2009 (UTC)
- A) 射殺す百頭 = Nine Lives.
- B) Nine Lives is a technique.
- C) AFAIK there is nothing about Nine Lives and its prana requirements anywhere. --CanonRap
- 'I do not believe the Noble Phantasm was actually named "Nine Lives".'
- You know what, the article is a direct translation of the encyclopedia entry, why don't you actually try to read it ? Specifically the parts that say "Nine Lives is the Noble Phantasm of Herakles" and "it's originally the bow and arrow but he later ported it as a technique useable for any weapon". And no, there's no reason to claim Shirou's version was different because of his lack of circuits, there isn't a single hit about such a thing anywhere. --Byakko 22:26, October 22, 2009 (UTC)
- Plus, it wasn't that Shirou managed to hit Black Berserker only 8 times - he DID do 9, but Berserker's own blow came before the 9th(he was THAT fast). Plus, if the NP was a bow, then Shirou would have NO way whatsoever to use it in that situation. The only reason he was able to use it was because it was a technique and his MegaManning-type Projection skill allows him to temporarily inherit the skill and technique of the projected weapon's user. --SolarAdept 06:31, October 28, 2009 (UTC)
gif[]

Does anyone know how to make the gif work in the infobox? Sandubadear (talk) 21:55, September 24, 2014 (UTC)
OK I uploaded a smaller version, it might work now. Also, shouldn't Berserker's version come first, because it is the "original" Nine Lives, and then the NLBW? Sandubadear (talk) 23:05, September 24, 2014 (UTC)
True Nine Lives[]
How about putting the True Nine Lives in the first pic? The description on side material about the original Nine Lives is that it was a bow that shot lasers, and I don't think that it's different from the one Gilgamesh has in Prisma Illya. The swordplay is just something that Heracles made later to emulate the NP. When the anime gets made, we can change then to the colored version. Sandubadear (talk) 00:13, September 25, 2014 (UTC)
- It's best to keep side-story stuff in its place. Prisma stuff doesn't reflect anything in the other series, so it's best to avoid mixing them. EGGS (talk) 00:21, September 25, 2014 (UTC)
- It does reflect, whatever you mean by that. The Saber card has the same Excalibur as the one in the main work, and so does Rider, Lancer etc. Sandubadear (talk) 00:43, September 25, 2014 (UTC)
- I mean that whatever the author does is unique to that work without any regard to Nasu's works. There's even something to that effect in a Q&A in one of the volumes. It's something that should only be mentioned in the context that it is a separate world with different rules. EGGS (talk) 01:18, September 25, 2014 (UTC)
