Tanaka ShinbeiWP (田中新兵衛?), Class Name Assassin (アサシン, Asashin?), is an Assassin-class Servant summoned in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.

Identity[]
Tanaka Shinbei comes from Satsuna. He is one of the two Man-Slayers that terrorized Kyoto during the Bakumatsu era. Just like Okada Izou, he worked for the Tosa Kinnou Party, under Takechi Zuizan's command.[1]
Appearance[]
Tanaka is a lot bigger than Okada Izou.[1]
Personality[]
Tanaka really admires Takechi Zuizan's ideals and would do anything for him.[1]

Abilities[]
Oryou claims that Tanaka was a lot bigger and physically stronger than Okada Izou, although that is all he had going for him.[1]
Combat[]
Tanaka is a practitioner of Jigenryu, a style centered on killing the enemy with a single strike.[1] He can also repel and move Mysterious Ranmaru X out of his way with a single blow. Furthermore, while Ranmaru retaliated with her Fudou Yukimitsu Saber, he didn't take any damage. Tanaka is durable enough to withstand attacks from Izumo-no-Okuni's Zanzaburou as well, although this time, he is pushed back unlike in the fight against Ranmaru.[2] During their second fight, Izumo-no-Okuni overpowered Tanaka once again.[1]
Ama-no-Sakagami was able to control Tanaka against his will with Nobunaga's head.[5] In this state, Tanaka is greatly injured and ultimately defeated by the combined efforts of Izumo-no-Okuni and Mysterious Ranmaru X.[6] However, it should be noted that the latter might have still been empowered by Nobunaga's head at the time.[5]

- Presence Concealment (??? Rank): As an Assassin, Tanaka is implied to have the Presence Concealment skill. It is impossible for Servants like Izumo-no-Okuni to track him once he disappears from the battlefield.[1] Okada Izou is an exception since he is also an Assassin himself.[4]
Noble Phantasm[]
Tanaka Shinbei's Noble Phantasm is Chest, a slashing attack so powerful Takasugi Shinsaku claims he doesn't stand a chance against it.[5] He first used it in the Showa Restoration Singularity against Mysterious Ranmaru X, however, Mori Nagayoshi saved her by shielding her with his own body. Mori survived the blow, however, the amount of damage was so great that he couldn't move afterward for the rest of the fight despite being shown wearing his Heroic Spirit Restraint Armor Type A. Oryou claims that Mori's Saint Graph was on the verge of collapsing from that wound. Furthermore, since Ritsuka Fujimaru uses a lot of Magical Energy just keeping Mori around, it was up to Oryou to heal him with her saliva.[2] In another occasion, Tanaka utilized Chest to destroy Izumo-no-Okuni's Bounded Field restraining Nobunaga's head abilities.[1] Lancer Sakamoto Ryouma is the only person to have ever been shown taking a direct blow from this attack without any signs of strain or difficulty.[6] Tanaka also used his Noble Phantasm against Okada Izou during their fight, but he dodged it.[4] Although Izou copied the attack with Settlement Sword,[4] he ultimately lost the fight.[5]

Tanaka Shinbei was designed by Hidetoshi Iwamoto in Fate/Grand Order.[7]
Ryosuke Morita was supervised on the dialect for his voice lines by Taketoshi Kawano.[8]
