A warrior from the mid-Heian period, Tawara Touta was revered as the founder of martial arts in the Kanto provinces. Later introducing himself as Fujiwara Hidesato (藤原秀郷, Fujiwara Hidesato?), he suddenly won fame by shooting Taira Masakado.
Tawara Touta was a brave soldier who performed many achievements while wielding the golden long sword handed down from his ancestor, Fujiwara Kamatari. A certain day, he was asked by the incarnation of a dragon god to exterminate the great centipede of Mount Mikami. He spit on his arrow, offered a prayer to Hachiman and splendidly exterminated the great centipede, big enough to make seven and a half turns in a mountain - with a bow and arrow. After receiving a rice bag that never runs out of rice as thanks from the dragon gods, it has been told that Tawara Touta went through hundreds of oni-exterminations and finally shot Taira Masakado, who was an immortal demon.
Tawara Touta is a large, open-hearted Servant with a fondness for meals.
Normally, those sultry muscles and pushy personality would just make people pull away, but with his straight and unbelievable smiling face one unconsciously ended up talking deeply with him.
He prefers eating together with everybody while making a ruckus rather than having a meal by himself.
The best Servant in regards to livelihood.
One cannot eat lasers; on the other hand, rice is delicious! A pleasant man who aids the timid and unnerve the bullish.
A young warrior who, bold and courageous as he is, holds an amiable smiling face. He is a martial man fond of a contest of strength, as well as a gourmet with love of the pursuit of delicious meals.
"It's quite difficult for me to not say that I like fighting more than three meals a day though! Hahaha!"
No matter when or what the situation is, he will go and provide help cheerfully. He may look like the physical type, but he is prudent and excels in his wit to win a battle and advances forward to the next. He doesn't have a protagonist trait of "Just I alone is enough" and so he will not go forward on his own. If such time comes he will leave the fighting for people meant for it, and if push comes to the shove, personally step in and solve all problems-----is how he thinks. Rather than an older brother, he is more of a leader sort of character.
He does not really change his behavior, be it towards the master or anyone else. Laughing boldly, thinking through things boldly, and clapping the shoulder boldly. Fundamentally someone without much distance on him.
"You are my Master, then? Hahaha, please treat me well then! Hahaha!" Like that (as he claps your shoulder heavily).
At the basic, he is someone who considers carefully the opponent's sentiment and standpoint, but against the type he dislikes he would not consider anything, simply slashing them down.
It's plain and simple what are the types that he does not like. "Guys who make meals taste bad when I eat together with them." In other words: "Those who can only live selfishly and trample underfoot woman and children selfishly; those kinds of idiots!" Despite being a Servant, he is picky about his meals.
- "Motherhood is good! Next, let us calmly reexamine about you being convinced that the Master is your child! Mm!"
- Shiki Ryougi
- "...You want me to give you this bale? Nono, now that I cannot do. No matter how brilliant your beauty is, I have to decline. Mm!"
- "You want to make use of it for a class....huh. Then, if that is the case....no, I cannot hand it over. I absolutely cannot. Mm!"
Sixth Singularity: Camelot
Touta was found by Xuanzang Sanzang after she crossed Ozymandias' desert, and made into her disciple. They eventually reached the Holy City of Camelot, where they live for two months. They left though when Sanzang decided to continue her journey despite enjoying the place, being escorted by the Knights of the Lion King. However, Touta was captured before a fort by Lancelot and his forces after Sanzang decided to pick a fight with the knights.
He is eventually freed when Ritsuka’s party with Sanzang comes to the fort to rescue him and Hassan of Serenity. He says he was protecting Sanzang, though she insists he was escorting her. She reminds him he is her disciple, saying disciples protect their mentors. Touta reminds however what exactly happened at the fort. Sanzang rides on his shoulders while he guides them to where Serenity is. They find her chained to a wall of the torture chamber by Agravain’s Iron Punishment. Ritsuka undoes her chains since they have an adverse effect on Servants. Agravain soon arrives and repeatedly sends knights towards the group. He eventually sends special knights modeled after the enraged Lancelot, but the group are able to kill them. Serenity activates Zabaniya: Delusional Poison Body, forcing Agravain to retreat. With the knights knocked out by the poison, the group escapes the fort.
Returning to the village, Touta uses Inexhaustible Bale, allowing everyone to have a feast that night. The next morning, the group realizes they’re seriously outmatched in terms of power and numbers. Touta believes their Servants can match the Knights of the Round. Arash disagrees though, doubting three Servants could match a Knight of the Round due to their Gifts. The group also recognizes they need someone to fight Gawain since their assault on Camelot will always fail as long as he’s at the front gate. Sanzang suggests recruiting Lancelot after Bedivere mentioned him as the only knight who could possibly match Gawain in a fight. Touta however puts that idea down and conks Sanzang on the head for thinking they could easily turn a Knight of the Round traitor. Serenity suggests going to the Shrine of Azrael to ask for the First Hassan, whose location she was tortured for. Hassan of the Cursed Arm agrees with the idea and tells the others to return to the eastern village.
Two days after Hassan of the Hundred Faces split off from them to gather more troops, the group returns to the village. They then reach the shrine after a day and enter after defeating its ghost guardians. Hassan agrees to help against Goddess Rhongomyniad, but he decides to punish the group for entering the Shrine. He’ll forgive their transgression if they pass his trial. He then takes control of Serenity to fight the group as part of the trial. After the group passes the trial, he agrees to aid them once they learn the truth about Goddess Rhongomyniad, Ozymandias, and the Incineration of Humanity. He directs them to the Atlas Institute in the desert as the place they'll learn the answers.
The group returns to the eastern village, only to find it besieged by forces led by Tristan and Lancelot. Touta, Sanzang and Bedivere go to rescue the villagers at Cursed Arm’s behest. He, Sanzang, and Cursed Arm eventually arrive to help Ritsuka, Mash, Serenity, and Bedivere against Tristan. However, they all bear witness as Rhongomyniad destroys the western village. Tristan then leaves, warning Rhongomyniad will strike the eastern village in five minutes. While the others evacuate, Touta stays behind to witness Arash successfully counter Rhongomyniad with Stella.
The following day, the village holds a funeral for those lost, including Arash. Cursed Arm reveals Hundred Faces evacuated most of the western village before it was destroyed. He implores Ritsuka to head for the Atlas Institute before Camelot attacks the village again. In the meantime, he and the other Hassans will gather their forces for the assault on Camelot, and spread word of Ritsuka to the other Saracens. He agrees with Romani to rendezvous in the village for final confirmation on the assault once Ritsuka returns. Ritsuka's party then leave for the desert.
Using a map given to them by an agent of Hundred Faces, the group searches the desert for the Atlas Institute. They soon encounter Lancelot and his knights, who were sent to capture them. The group fight, but they retreat when Lancelot proves too strong. A giant illusion of Nitocris then manifests, distracting the knights enough for the group to escape. The knights give chase, only for both parties to run into a sphinx nest. After slaying the sphinxes, the group enters the Atlas Institute via a pitfall trap. There they are met by Sherlock Holmes.
Sherlock leads the group to the central area while they destroy any activated defenses. At the center, the group finds a still functioning Tri-Hermes. Sherlock uses it to learn Rhongomyniad's true form is the Tower at the Ends of the World, while the lance is a terminal to access its Authority. Goddess Rhongomyniad plans to use it to create an ideal world by gathering virtuous souls. According to Tri-Hermes’ calculations, Rhongomyniad can hold 500 souls. It is Camelot’s true form, where the selected are sealed away. They’re gathered as ideal examples of humanity’s virtue, and they will be sealed forever once Camelot returns to its true form. Sherlock reveals, however, that upon the Tower’s completion, the Ends of the Worlds will consume the era. Sanzang wonders why Hassan didn’t tell them the truth in the first place. Touta assumes it was because Ritsuka needed to come to the Institute itself. The group then rush back to the surface.
Returning to the surface, the group is confronted by Lancelot and his knights. He is eventually convinced by them to join their fight against Goddess Rhongomyniad. He then escorts them for half a day to a secret refugee camp for those unselected.
There they find Leonardo da Vinci alive, having been protected by Lancelot back then. After Mash relays what they learned in the Institute, Da Vinci realizes Goddess Rhongomyniad intends to create an isolated space for the purest of humanity to continue existing following the Incineration of Humanity. Lancelot reveals Artoria was already Goddess Rhongomyniad when she summoned the Knights of the Round. Da Vinci reveals Artoria became a Divine Spirit by holding Rhongomyniad too long. Romani reveals Goddess Rhongomyniad’s intention to create a world without humans would disrupt human history, even if Chaldea restores humanity. Lancelot suggests convincing Ozymandias to help when the group recognizes their forces aren’t enough. While Bedivere goes to contact Saracens on Da Vinci's request, the others depart for the desert in Da Vinci’s newly built vehicle, the Bastiyan.
Touta rides horseback alongside Lancelot and his troop while the others are riding in the Bastinyan. They eventually reach Ramesseum Tentyris. Da Vinci sends a message to Ozymandias, requesting he join them and to prepare for their arrival. While waiting for a reply though, a pack of sphinxes emerge from the temple gates. While Lancelot and his knights fight the sphinxes, the others enter the temple.
Inside the temple, Nitocris fights the group to see if they’re worthy of an audience with Ozymandias. They defeat her, so she allows them to meet with Ozymandias. Inside the throne room, Ozymandias is convinced to test the group’s strength and resolve to save the world. He pours some of his own blood into the Grail and drinks it to incarnate himself into Amon. However, he grants the name Amun-Ra onto Amon, temporarily turning him into a Divine Spirit. The group fights him, but the temple supplies him with infinite magical energy, instantly regenerating any wounds they inflict. They defeat him though thanks to Sanzang unleashing her full power. Returning to normal, Ozymandias fights the group again with Nitocris to prove their worth as allies. After being defeated, he gives the Grail to Mash and agrees to lend his sphinxes for the assault on Camelot.
Three days later, the group returns to the eastern village. There they tell Bedivere and the Hassans that they have now Ozymandias’ support. Hassan of Serenity confirms they’ve gathered 17, 000 followers. Hundred Faced says there are 2,000 people in Camelot secretly supporting their rebellion. Sanzang and Touta then go prepare food.
n the wastelands near Camelot, the group reviews their strategy once more when Romani reports the city is prepared for them. Lancelot orders the allied forces to advance when a sandstorm created by Hassan suddenly appears from the north to envelop Camelot. With the storm making both sides’ archers useless, the allied forces advance onto Camelot as fast as possible.
The allied forces soon become overwhelmed by Camelot’s forces, unable to break through into the city. Sanzang tells Touta to move towards the wall near the front gate. As she prepares her Noble Phantasm, she confesses that she’ll die as a result. After recalling meeting Ritsuka before, she uses her Noble Phantasm to destroy the front gate. Touta takes her to the west gate, and he vows to work in her stead. Understanding she already went to Tianzhu, Sanzang wishes to go to Chaldea. She wishes to take on new disciples and scriptures, and disappears thinking Buddha won’t punish her for having such a dream. Touta tells her that Buddha wouldn’t punish her as she demonstrated his compassion, proud to be her disciple. He then joins the fight, telling Sanzang to relax in paradise.
After Rhongomyniad is destroyed, Touta disappears as the era restores itself.
Christmas Event: The Second Generation is Alter
Touta watches Fuuma Kotarou waiting in anticipation. Amakusa Shirou Tokisada explains that Kotarou is waiting for his present from Santa Claus, which surprises Touta since he thought ninjas were all emotionless puppets. He also agrees with Amakusa Shirou that a Servant's psychological age changes according to their physical body, saying the memories of their older selves often feel like someone else's business. Jeanne Alter Santa Alter Lily soon lands and gives Kotarou his present: a Japanese-English dictionary. She explains it will help him translate his Noble Phantasm's name, which has grammatical issues, into proper English. Touta calls her present terrible, but Alter Lily claims it's for Kotarou's own good. She also disagrees with Touta that a Christmas present should bring joy as she believes a present must be useful to be good. She believes Santa needs to give people useful gifts so they can improve. She and Kotarou then get into a childish argument about what she said that escalates into a fight.
After being defeated, Kotarou accepts Alter Lily's gift. Alter Lily soon leaves dejected after learning the name of Kotarou's Noble Phantasm holds sentimental value for him. Kotarou and Touta realize she doesn't feel joy in delivering presents. Touta finds it's sad that Alter Lily is trying her best as Santa but focuses on usefulness because she doesn't what gifts bring joy. He, therefore, wonders why she became a Santa in the first place. Kotarou then notices Amakusa Shirou is absent.
Final Singularity: Solomon
Tawara Touta is one of the "Camelot" Singularity Servants that appear to aid Ritsuka Fujimaru.
Hell Realm Mandala, Heiankyo - Flash of Roaring Thunder
Touta was a warrior skilled in the use of swordsmanship and archery in his time known for many achievements of his own, notably in the ways of exterminating many oni's, with his most famous slayings being of the giant centipede demon and Taira Masakado who was, in secret, an immortal demon by taking his head off. He is also just as skillful in combat to use even his bale of rice, which doesn't have any combat functions of its own due to its nature of pouring its contents out as food, by using it as either a melee weapon or even as a thrown object at his enemies.
Touta's Noble Phantasm, Inexhaustible Bale is also represented by a Skill of the same name and rank.

Comment from Illustrator
"If it's Tawara Touta, then the famed Taira no Masakado's subjugation would come to mind. But this time I drew him as an Archer possessing the bow that he used to exterminate the Oomukade. The image is an invigorating, macho gourmand. Similar to a certain gourmet house Nori somewhere. With his Noble Phantasm of a bale that cannot be exhausted in his shoulder, he seems to use it as a battle weapon... is how I think it went with his animation motion. Detailed art of rice soaring and scattering!"
