The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II[Note 1] (ロード・エルメロイⅡ世の冒険, Rōdo Erumeroi Nisei no Bōken)?) is a Fate novel series acting as a sequel to Lord El-Melloi II Case Files written by Makoto Sanda and illustrated by Mineji Sakamoto. It is set a few years after both Case Files and Fate/stay night.
The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II is set several years after both Lord El-Melloi II Case Files and Fate/stay night. It does not follow a specific route of Fate/stay night, instead taking place after a theoretical fourth route that combines aspects of all three.[1] For example, Shirou Emiya followed Rin Tohsaka to London like in the Unlimited Blade Works route, but their relationship is left ambiguous with Rin claiming that they are not a thing,[2] similarly to the Fate route.
El-Melloi II and Gray visit Singapore during the summer for a lecture at the Clock Tower branch.
In this country where various cultures are mixed, they meet a young man by the name of Ergo. The Sixth Source of Atlas appears in pursuit of the mysterious young man. What is the ancient experiment conducted by the Atlas Institute, the Wandering Sea Baldanders, and other magi? And what is the name of the God that El-Melloi II will ask?
"The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II", where magecraft and legends blend together with illusion and myths, is about to begin.
"But you know, we grew to like you, so you shouldn't die."
Ergo, the man who ate gods.
In order to save him from gradually losing his personality, El-Melloi II's party headed to Tokyo, Japan. There they are greeted by Ryougi Mikiya, who requests them to solve a kidnapping.
What happened to the supposedly abducted Yagou Akira? And who is the Wandering Sea mage blocking Ergo and Rin's way?
"The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II", the journey to inquire the names of gods, reaches its second act.
After the case in Japan, El-Melloi II's party was invited to Egypt.
What waited them there was a second Library of Alexandria, supposedly lost to time. And the collaborative excavation team of Atlas and the Clock Tower went to explore the Library.
It was decided that El-Melloi II and Gray had to join the exploration team to solve a mysterious incident, while Ergo and Rin were faced with another young Atlas alchemist, Sion.
Volume 4 of The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II, mixing desert and ocean, Age of Gods and present age.
Guided by the mechanical bird named Ptolemy, Lord El-Melloi II and the accompanying Clock Tower/Atlas Institute joint excavation team infiltrates the submerged Library of Alexandria. Meanwhile, Ergo and Rin heard from Sion that the excavation team contains a traitor to Atlas and headed to the seafloor ruins through a different route. What is the truth behind the mysterious Pharaoh murder case? What is Karmaglyph Meluastea, Lord of Archeology, after? What do the records in the Library of Alexandria say about Ergo's identity?
The truth sunk in the depths of time will now reemerge.
Lord El-Melloi II's party finally learned Ergo's identity in the submerged library of Alexandria.
But immediately after it, his oldest student Flat Escardos informed him that he contacted Ziz, the mage from the Wandering Sea, which lead them to take an emergency flight to Monaco. When they finally confront Ziz, he proposes they settle everything with a game at Fem's Casa--a gambling venue run by the Dead Apostle Van-Fem.
Meanwhile, Rin and Luvia have been searching for a person but ultimately encounter someone unexpected!

The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II was initially teased in the last pages of the 2019 Lord El-Melloi II Case Files material,[4] before being officially confirmed on the official Twitter of TYPE-MOON as well as its release date for winter 2020.[5] Sanda initially wanted to make The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II about the Holy Church, but Nasu asked him to keep writing about mages because content about the Church was for the Tsukihime Remake series.[6]

In the eighth volume, an illustration contained an error in depicting Shirou Emiya being in his boxer due to a miscommunication between Makoto Sanda and Mineji Sakamoto. The illustration was corrected in later reprints of the volume.[7]
↑The Japanese title matches the formatting of Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files' Japanese title, but the common official English translation uses different formatting. It is possible to translate it in multiple ways, Lord El-Melloi II's Adventures, Lord El-Melloi II Adventures, and The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II.
