Today's Menu For Emiya Family (衛宮さんちの今日のごはん, Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan?) is a net anime series based on the Today's Menu for Emiya Family manga. directed by Takahiro Miura and Tetsuto Satō. It is animated by ufotableWP animation studio. The series aired from January 25, 2018 to January 01, 2019 in monthly episodes. The series ran for 13 episodes.[1] The cooking supervision is done by Makoto Tadano.

The second episode of the net animation was released on February 1, 2018. The anime will stream starting in February on AbemaTV, with new episodes premiering on the first of every month at 9:00 p.m. JST (7:00 a.m. EST). However, the first episode debuted online on January 25 at 9:00 p.m.[2]
It's directed by Takahiro Miura and Tetsuto Satou with music by Go Shiina, Toko Uchimura as the character designer and Kazuo Ebisawa as the art director. The opening song is performed by DJ Misoshiru & MC Gohan and the ending song by Sangatsu no Phantasia. The anime is produced by Ufotable.[3] Aniplex USA started streaming the anime on January 25, 2018 on Crunchyroll.[4]
During April Fools' Day 2018, the appearance of an another "Emiya-san" was teased with a new key visual. After Episode 7, the second visual for the show is released.[3]

Episode description: Shirou Emiya and Saber go shopping. After heading home, they find Illya and Taiga appreciating a KotatsuWP. Emiya decides to cook the dinner for the girls. Recipe: Noodle soup: 1.5L Bonito or Dashi stock, 200ml soy sauce, 100ml mirin, 1 tbsp granulated sugar Noodles: 200g soba noodles, 100g spring onions, 150g kamaboko fish cake (optional), 8 Kelp Pieces (optional), 100g Komatsuna or spinach Tempura: 8 decent sized shrimps, 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted, 1 good egg, 3/4 cup ice cold water, 1/4 cup sake, Ice cubes for chilling the water Soba: In a large pan, make your dashi stock. Next, add the mirin and simmer gently for a few minutes. Now add the sugar and let it dissolve before adding the soy sauce. This makes the soup for your soba noodles. In separate pan bring 1L of water to the boil. Add the soba, stir them slightly to make sure they’re all spread out around the pot. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for around 8 minutes. Cooking times may vary depending on your noodles, so check the instructions on the packet. Drain the noodles and rinse them in cold water, gently rubbing the noodles to remove any excess starch on the surface. Next, thinly slice the spring onions and any other garnishes. Gently re-heat the stock and pour into bowls, then add the noodles and garnish with your spring onions and tempura. For optionals, cook with noodles. Tempura: In a small bowl, sift flour once or twice to remove any clumps and to make it light and soft. Set aside. In a separate medium bowl, gently beat 1 egg until the yolk and egg whites are just barely incorporated. Prepare ice cold water by combining water and ice cubes in a cup. Using a strainer, measure 1 cup of ice cold water and add it to the bowl with the beaten egg. Make sure you do not actually add ice cubes to the tempura batter mixture. Add the sifted flour into the bowl with the egg and water mixture and lightly combine the flour using chopsticks. Be careful not to over-mix the batter. The batter is now ready for immediate use. If for some reason the batter won't be used immediately, place it in the refrigerator temporarily (for a few short minutes) to keep it ice cold until you're ready to deep-fry your tempura. Don’t store the batter in the fridge. For crisp tempura, use ice water instead of regular room-temperature, or tap water. Try using chopsticks to mix the ingredients of the tempura batter together instead of a whisk, to minimize risk of over-mixing the batter. Heat the oil for deep-frying before the tempura batter is prepared to ensure the oil is ready and that the batter is at its coldest when it hits the oil. Note, the oil should be at 375 F. Don't prepare the tempura batter ahead of time as it will not yield the best results. |
