Trimmau (トリムマウ, Torimumau?) is a maid golem currently serving Reines El-Melloi Archisorte. She was formerly the Mystic Code of Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald, Volumen Hydrargyrum, before being inherited and reworked by Reines under the guidance of Lord El-Melloi II.[2][3]

After Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald was defeated by Kiritsugu Emiya in the Fourth Holy Grail War, Lord El-Melloi II inherited the Mystic Code and reprogrammed it as a "multi-purpose maid golem." While her education was almost completed, she was shown a "detrimental movie" featuring a "killer robot from the futureWP" by Flat Escardos.[2] People think that she was made by Lord El-Melloi II, but he actually only gave advice to Reines El-Melloi Archisorte. She began acting as the maid of Reines and her bodyguard.[3]
As Trimmau naturally cannot be allowed to be seen in public due to the concealment of Mystery, Reines keeps her in a suitcase for travel. When Trimmau is in the suitcase magecraft is used to make her weigh less.[4]

Personality[]
Trimmau has the intellectual capacity to perform simply household chores. She has a "troublesome bug," where Trimmau insists to be a golem made from futuristic science instead of magic, in which she rampages around occasionally thinking that she is a "killer robot from the future" due to the movie she watched in development.[2] She has a habit of quoting lines from movies, not just from the troublesome one that made her think she was a killer robot, but from other movies as well.

Trimmau and Reines invaded into Lord El-Melloi II office. They waited for Lord El-Melloi II after he finishes his discussion with Bram Nuada-Re Sophia-Ri and Rocco Belfaban. Before leaving the room, she makes a thumbs up and murmured "I'll be back".[6]

Trimmau and Reines stop by Lord El-Melloi II's apartment. She stares at Gray as she enters the room, when Lord El-Melloi II and Reines disscus the Adra Castle case.[5]

Trimmau is accused of being Reines's murder weapon to kill Carina, one of the maids of the Iselma family, and confiscated by the Iselmas as a result. After Reines is proven innocent Trimmau is returned. She later turns into a suit of armor for Gray to wear while fighting Touko Aozaki.

In the present, Trimmau prepares tea and desserts for Reines and Gray for their tea party.[7]
In the flashback, Reines brings Trimmau with her to the Blackmore Cemetery, sticking her to the bottom of the train car. She also asked her to bring the rest of the luggage and to report the situation on the village on the first night. Humorously, Trimmau introduces herself quoting “Hello boys! I’m back!” from Independence DayWP, another influence of Flat.[8] Trimmau cleans the hunting lodge Reines and Waver sleeps in during the night and prepares tea the following morning, with her automatic control function running since the day before making Reines lose quite a bit of Magical Energy.[9]
When Reines returned to London, she ordered Trimmau to secretly go back to the village and aid Lord El-Melloi II in any way she can, especially if it means increasing his debt to Reines. As such, a recreation of Trimmau existed in the Logos React simulation of Blackmore Cemetery which El-Melloi II and Gray were trapped in. She greets Gray with the quote "Here's looking at you, kid." from CasablancaWP. El-Melloi II used her to analyze and calculate Doctor Heartless's notes after finding his shack in the woods.[10]

A piece of Trimmau splits off from her body and accompanies Lord El-Melloi II to serve as a way for El-Melloi II and Reines to communicate over long distance. This piece of Trimmau takes the shape of a miniature Waver.[11] Later, she is lent to Svin Glascheit to become his armor when fighting Faker, boosting his already superhuman capabilities to keep up with a Servant and with Reines fine-tuning the armor simultaneously.[12]

Trimmau was apparently the leading design in the field of Automata. It's been said that even though the field of Magecraft which deals with creating artificial humans has already started its decline, this particular Automata was of a completely different essence, and so avoided the problem.[5]
Trimmau specializes not only in acting as a bodyguard, but also in using her body to clean and invade places. There are still many secrets regarding the full details of her abilities.[3] Its default combat mode is turning its hands into hammers.
While Reines does not have the exceptional Magic Circuits of Kayneth, she does have a talent for precise control which allows Trimmau to take on a variety of forms,[13] such as a suit of armour,[14] or a horse.[15] She is even able to transform into the shapes of other people,[16] where Trimmau can imitate a person's appearance and habits to a certain degree.
A portion of her can be used to use as a familiar and become a figure-sized version of the owner sharing their senses.[11]
By dissipating into a mist, Trimmau can create projections of diagrams and patterns among the mist, useful for cases such as sharing something on a sheet of paper with the entire room.[17]
Trimmau and Reines do not have linked senses. After all, Volumen Hydrargyrum is a Mystic Code, not a familiar. However Reines can still feel when the flow of magical energy between them is cut.[18]
Trimmau has also learned many things from Flat's magical hacking. While that includes the movie quotes she spouts, Reines has turned a blind eye to it for the sake of the other merits it brings.[13] For instance, Trimmau is capable of hacking computers.[16]
Trimmau is strongest in statistical analysis and pattern recognition. This can range from something as simple as identifying and tracking footprints,[18] to running calculations like a computer to analyze data and come to a conclusion. This specialty is because excelling in combat is not the only reason for her creation, Kayneth having created Volumen Hydrargyrum to serve as the El-Melloi faction's leading computational machine, a remote processor.[13] When this function is activated, floating number tables and symbols appear, calculating formulas. Under Waver's control however, only a portion of it can be used.[10]
Development[]
Trimmau was first mentioned in Fate/Zero material, which was released in August 2008, which explained how Volumen Hydrargyrum was repurposed into a maid by Waver.[2] She made her debut in Fate/Apocrypha volume 3 in December 2013, which was the first time she had a name and design.[6] In Fate/Apocrypha material her backstory was slightly retconned from what Zero material said so that now Reines was the one who repurposed her and Waver simply gave Reines advice.[3]

One of the mystic codes employed by Lord El-Melloi. Essentially, it is a mass of magically-infused mercury that has been filled with a large variety of movement patterns and programmed to respond appropriately depending on the situation. I guess you could call it a kind of battle golem? Out of all of Kayneth's armaments, it has the greatest capacity for physical destruction. He had prepared many other mystic codes designed for battles with curses and conjurations, but the vast majority of them were lost when his hotel was blown up by Kiritsugu.
Though it wouldn't be wrong to call it an almighty weapon due to its versatility, in the end it is still just an automaton, and once you see through its movement patterns it's fairly easy to handle. Also, since the magical energy required to operate it is directly proportional to the complexity of its shape, it is necessary to keep it in its basic form as much as possible – switching to a more complex form drastically reduces its reaction speed and power. The final "sea urchin" transformation used in the battle against Kiritsugu was a form that combined both raw defensive ability and cunning, but accordingly the drain on Kayneth's magical energy was immense.
By the way, after the war ended Lord El-Melloi II may or may not have reprogrammed this mystic code and employed it as a multi-purpose maid golem. Though it has enough intellectual capacity to perform simple household chores, it seems there's a troublesome bug that pops up every now and then that causes it to rampage around insisting that it's a killer robot from the future. Maybe it was shown a detrimental movie just when it was on the verge of completing its education in good taste…?月霊髄液（ヴォールメン・ハイドラグラム）【魔術】
ロード・エルメロイが駆使する礼装の一つ。魔力を充填した水銀に多鍾多様な行動パターンを記憶させ、状況に応じた最善の反応をとるよう設定したもの。戦闘用ゴーレムの一種と言えなくもない。こと物理エネルギーとしての破壊力においてはケイネスの武装の中でも最強。彼はこれ以外にも呪術戦、幻術戦に特化した礼装を多数用意していたが、切嗣によるホテル爆破によって大多数が失われた。月霊髄液の多機能性は万能兵器と呼ぶに相応しいものの、所詮は自動機械であり、ひとたび行動パターンを見切られてしまうと対処されやすい。また操作に費やす魔力は形態の複雑さに比例するため、なるべく単純な形態を維持する必要があるが、いったん液圧をかけにくい形態に変形してしまうと、次の動作は反応速度、パワーともに著しく劣化する。最後のウニ型変形は防御力と機敏さを両立させうる形態だったが、それに費やすケイネスの魔力負担は相当なものだっただろう。

Supreme Mystic Code of the El-Melloi family.
The term Supreme Mystic Code refers to a Mystic Code sufficient to be called symbolic of a family of similar level to one of the Twelve Lords of the Clock Tower. In Volumen Hydrargyrum’s case, it was created by Lord Kayneth in his early twenties, a clear demonstration of the once-Lord’s exceptional talent.
Ever changing in form, it is a Mystic Code capable of performing both offensively and defensively without showing any openings. Its true nature however is that of a remote processor.
Upon inheriting it, Reines followed the advice of El-Melloi II and created a familiar out of it, endowing it with an elementary kind of artificial intelligence. It was the best advice for Reines who, rather than having the exceptional Magic Circuits of her predecessor, instead boasted a talent for precise control.
By forcing it to remember Reines’ precise control, the artificial intelligence is able to imitate it perfectly. The newly christened Trimmau being capable of taking so many various forms is primarily a result of this advice she received.
In addition, because of Trimmau’s nature, it has also learned a great many things from Flat’s magical hacking. Though that has included a large amount of unnecessary wit and famous sayings, Reines has thus far turned a blind eye to it for the sake of the other merits it brings.月霊髄液【礼装】
エルメロイ家の至上礼装。
至上礼装とは、君主を輩出する十二家やそれに匹敵する名家の蔵する中でも、その家系を象徴するに足ると認められた特別な礼装である。月霊髄液の場合、いまだ二十代前半であった君主ケイネスがつくったというのだから、先代がいかに優秀だったかが窺いしれる。
変幻自在、攻守に隙のない魔術礼装でありつつ、その本来の性能は隔絶した演算機であった。
ライネスが受け継いだ際、エルメロイII世の助言を受けて、初歩的な人工知性を付与された使い魔に加工される。これはケイネスほどの優れた魔術回路は持たないものの、精密操作においては特筆すべき才能を持ったライネスに、ベストなアドバイスだった。
ライネスの精密操作を人工知性に覚えさせれば、その通りに模倣してくれるためだ。新たにトリムマウと名付けられた月霊髄液が、さまざまな変形パターンを見せるのは、このアドバイスによるところが大きい。
