Hi, welcome to TYPE-MOON Wiki!

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- EGGS (Talk) 09:46, June 26, 2012

I've seen the experimentation you've been doing with tabs and subpages and such over on the Karna related pages, and while I do appreciate the effort, I personally disagree with the idea. I feel the result doesn't look very good, and the page won't flow well with the rest of the wikiing, if you get what I mean? Karna/etc is rather cumberstone to type out and link in other pages, especially since whenever a character is referred to, more often than not, it is to a specific version of the character. For example, we'd probably get no links towards the Karna parent, with them instead going to the specific versions. Also, while Servant characters can be based on the same Heroic Spirit, they are technically not the same character. The Karna in F/A is technically a separate character from the Karna in CCC, even though they are the same Heroic Spirit and use the same design as a base, so I feel uncomfortable with treating them as if they were just variants of the same character. (and that is not even getting into the two Arthurs who are completely different genders or the two Vlads who are nearly nothing alike) Not to mention this whole tabs and subpages thing will primarily apply solely to Servants who appear in multiple settings, and thus the pages with the tabs would look out of place next to most of the pages on the wiki.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:03, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

I can see how it could work well in theory, but it doesn't really function that well in application. There are linking issues and searching issues, only a few characters using it would make it seem out of place, and they are technically different characters as Otherarrow said, making it potentially more confusing than helpful. I think disambiguation pages and mentioning them in the lead is enough. EGGS (talk) 15:59, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Well it was worth a shot to see if the tabbing system works, lets keep the tabbing template for now, just in case if we're going to use it in future.Nikonu (talk) 11:43, May 8, 2013 (UTC)

For ease of editing, I've created Encyclopedia as a place to gather them up so that they don't clutter the articles and for them to be edited without having to go to each article in which they are used. If you want to add any, use <section begin=sectionname /> and <section end=sectionname /> around them in Encyclopedia and replace the ones in the article with . EGGS (talk) 17:43, October 22, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks EGG, with this setup, it'll save a lot time.Nikonu (talk)
With the Encyclopedia article, could you start adding the names of the articles in which each entry is used, like "<!--Used in: X, Y, Z--->"? It's getting to be a good deal larger than I thought it would be, so it'll probably get split off to sub-articles based on the individual books eventually. If we start listing the names now, it'll be easier to move them later without disrupting too many pages. EGGS (talk) 16:26, April 4, 2014 (UTC)
I'll do that when I'll start on the next bunch. I have a suggestion, I've noticed you've added Alphabetical tab for the Encyclopedia page. Perhaps it would be better to add more tabs such as characters and location etc.(Nikonu (talk) 16:47, April 4, 2014 (UTC))
Yeah, I was thinking of doing different ones like "By category" ([Weapon], [Name], ect), "By series", "Q&A", and whatever else. Though, I have to get the motivation to finish the alphabetical list first. EGGS (talk) 16:51, April 4, 2014 (UTC)
OK, so the best plan would be to create sub-pages per book/game, and place any new entries on those pages while moving over the current ones a bit at a time. We'll include all of the entries from those on the main Encyclopedia page, and after they are all moved out, it'll be moved to "Encyclopedia/All entries." After that, the main page will just be used as a directory for the sub-pages. EGGS (talk) 22:18, April 5, 2014 (UTC)

I've set it up so you can pop right over to the reference from the transcluded pages if you add "nav=Y|V1=Page#Section|" before the title of the reference. EGGS (talk) 22:06, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

You don't need to bother replacing the single entries on the main encyclopedia page now. It turns out you can just transclude the page itself. If you get to the point where everything has been switched over, replacing the section with will work. EGGS (talk) 16:12, April 11, 2014 (UTC)
It actually looks like the page may actually need to be trashed after everything is moved over. There's a limit to the number of templates on a single page, so there isn't much that can be done for that. There will only be more added, so it won't be getting any better. EGGS (talk) 21:08, April 11, 2014 (UTC)

Data Collection

Given that the majority of the Plus Period entries are just updated Data Collection entries that vary only slightly, I figure it would be best to just combine them using the switch template (like A-B-A(JP)-B(JP)). "I Don't Understand" seems to be the only unique Data Collection entry, so it would cut down on have to double up on pages where both versions actually contain something relevant. EGGS (talk) 22:17, April 20, 2014 (UTC)

Are you sure it's being used in the context of a name there? The word being used is simply "Buddha" in Google Translate, with some alternate suggestions of that name. The actual name is "釈迦牟尼" according to JWikipedia. EGGS (talk) 13:54, January 27, 2015 (UTC)

The Fate/EXTRA material refers Buddha as 覚者(ブッダ), but it also refers it as enlightened one. As for 釈尊, Google is sort of right; I think google refers him as the Gautama Buddha which is Sakyamuni sage of the Sakyas. Nikonu (talk) 14:31, January 27, 2015 (UTC)

Unknown Mess ups

Hey not to be Ratting or anything but There's this unknown,, making funny edits on the Shirou Emiya page. Palantian (talk) 12:21, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

It's best to report this to EGG.Nikonu (talk) 13:11, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

Command Seals

Hey Nikonu, I noticed you're the one that adds the Command Seal pictures, So I was wondering if you could do one for Atram Galiast. Hawkeye2701 (talk) 20:07, May 13, 2015 (UTC)

The one on Atram page is presentable for now. It's best to wait for the animation material book for a better quality. Nikonu (talk) 21:51, May 13, 2015 (UTC)
Ah, I never realised that's how we got them. Fair enough. Thanks for the reply.Hawkeye2701 (talk) 22:24, May 13, 2015 (UTC)

GO Art

If you feel like it, here's a collection of all the GO character stages: Imgur. EGGS (talk) 15:17, July 31, 2015 (UTC)

Cool, I haven't seen all the artworks but I'm really digging Benkei illustration. I'll cropped them when I have a bit more time. Nikonu (talk) 15:34, July 31, 2015 (UTC)

Extra material

Those entries are still in editing, so it would probably be best to hold off on using them until they've placed them on their site proper. EGGS (talk) 18:09, August 16, 2015 (UTC)

It seems that after you edited the Kuonji Alice page the "switching between the character pictures" broke. If I go into the edit history and compare the last two edit it becomes possible to switch again.

I would restore it but I don't know how. 08:24, August 23, 2015 (UTC) dyri

Fate/Apocrypha Ruler picture

Why you denied Fate/Apocrypha's design of Ruler from character's infobox? Napul (talk) 18:19, September 8, 2015 (UTC)

Since Fate/grand Order has illustrated Ruler in various clothing, posting Fate/Apocrypha illustration seems out of place. Nikonu (talk) 21:50, September 8, 2015 (UTC)
That's pretty absurd reason. It's like you said that we should delete Aoko's Tsukihime design because there is now her desing from Mahoyo. Ruler's Apocrypha design is still one of her main designs. It definitely should be posted as well. Napul (talk) 22:19, September 8, 2015 (UTC)
I didn't delete the image, it's in the appearance section. Secondly, I'm the user who provided uploaded the image in the first place and it took time to crop the image, I'm not stupid enough to delete it in the first place. Argh it pointless to argue with you since you've already undo the page. Nikonu (talk) 07:00, September 9, 2015 (UTC)
The image reflecting the primary work of the character (Apocrypha in Joan's case) generally should be the main image unless an alternative shows the character better (i.e. Enkidu's updated Grand Order art compared to the 2008 art). EGGS (talk) 14:35, September 9, 2015 (UTC)

Cropped Images

Will you be uploading Leonidas and Sanson from the images I loaded up a while ago? Zahadrin (talk) 19:32, September 9, 2015 (UTC)

Tabs (2)

Using tabs for alternate versions would be fine, but those wikis that split up tiny sections of content onto different pages are annoying. For ones where they could share sections like "Identity", it could just use the transclude section function like with Saber and Saber Alter's Heaven's Feel Section. EGGS (talk) 16:53, September 11, 2015 (UTC)

I'm can't really see any benefit to making them sub-pages. The tabs on other wikis help for quick switching between relevant, directly connected pages, but these are just being used to switch to versions separate enough that they're mostly not going to share any content. Functionality-wise, it doesn't really change anything for the better or worse, so I'm not really sure if the current naming scheme needs to change. EGGS (talk)

Fate/GO Encyclopedia

Any translated info on Caligula, Edward Teach, Saint Martha, or Marie Antoinette yet? Zahadrin (talk) 08:31, December 3, 2015 (UTC)

Character template

Rather than bother trying to edit that template, we should just move it to a portable template like Template:NP. The only issue is that it won't allow for anything like Template:Servant. EGGS (talk) 18:23, May 17, 2016 (UTC)

I would get rid of "Behind the scenes" and put that info back up at the top. Sites like Wookieepedia that go the full mile in shoving aside the real world details are more annoying than anything. EGGS (talk) 13:22, May 22, 2016 (UTC)

Is this correct? G-SANtos (talk) 14:27, May 22, 2016 (UTC)

Not sure, I haven't read Fate/Prototype. Nikonu (talk) 19:46, May 22, 2016 (UTC)

Command Spells

If you happen to have the time, do you think you could switch the Command Spells to red aside from Sieg's? EGGS (talk) 00:05, June 28, 2016 (UTC)

Image size

Is there a way to control the image size in the infobox portable?

Depends on if you want to have more than one picture or just one picture in an infobox. How big should the images be in your case for the infobox of Servant and other characters?

Cyanide3 09:31, July 24, 2016 (UTC)

I use the page in Lugh Beowulf as an example, it is already set in the new infobox portable. However the image was set to scale down to 130px but instead the whole image looks pretty big. Nikonu (talk) 13:36, July 24, 2016 (UTC)
Ah that is cool!I will try to scale it down. Btw I created another design for the infobox that looks like the old one. But I see that on the MediaWiki:Wikia.css page you already have some kind of style for the infobox. Can I copy & paste my idea in the CSS so you have two versions and can decide which one you want? Cyanide3 19:19, July 26, 2016 (UTC)
Edit: Scaling down the images Cyanide3 19:19, July 26, 2016 (UTC)
Each images has different sizes, whereas Lugh Beowulf page looks fine but the other pages such as Demon God, the images has shrank. For some reason the new infobox portable, couldn't accept scaling commands: Nikonu (talk) 07:09, July 27, 2016 (UTC)
Name = |-|

Will you be uploading Scans of all the Grand Order Servants from the Material Books for all their Ascensions? Zahadrin (talk) 14:41, December 7, 2016 (UTC)

I will eventually upload those images and update the material info but it's a time consuming procedure. Nikonu (talk) 15:34, December 7, 2016 (UTC)
Ah, ok. Understandably so. Was curious. Thank you for doing so. Zahadrin (talk) 02:44, December 8, 2016 (UTC)
Are you still doing Grand Order Scans? I ask, since it's been a while since another batch was uploaded and only one was there for Julius Caesar, but I also don't wanna come off as rude or nagging in any way. Zahadrin (talk) 22:34, December 4, 2017 (UTC)

Fate/Kaleid Gifs

Hey! First, thanks for helping out with the Extella NP gifs. I keep forgetting to put some of those lol.

I was wondering if you can also help me find the animated gifs for Fate/Kaleid NPs. But I wanted to ask, for the NPs that are not original (mainly, Class Card NPs of existing Servants we know), would making a gif for them be redundant? I'm saying this cause the only canon NPs that have been given Fate/Kaleid images are Enuma Elish and Unlimited Blade Works, but there's none for Excalibur, Bellerophon, etc. that has already been animated in Fate/Kaleid first three-four seasons.

Just saying but I prefer if you do the gifs ASAP instead of leaving it out for me to do it if you are just going to upload the gifs to your standards afterwards as that can help me focus on other things on the wiki. Thanks!

Content Moderator

Just made you a "Content Moderator", which should allow you to delete things. EGGS (talk) 20:22, June 28, 2017 (UTC)

I've been meaning to ask this for a while, but why is it a lot of my images are either overwritten by the same image or removed in place of your uploads? Is there any particular reason? Zahadrin (talk) 20:14, October 8, 2017 (UTC)

I replaced them because of the file format. The png files has the transparency function, whereas the jpg images are compressed image files. Nikonu (talk) 20:34, October 8, 2017 (UTC)
So, for images like these, I should change them to jpg images then? Zahadrin (talk) 21:00, October 8, 2017 (UTC)
Once again, you overwrite the images I upload. Seriously, should I just not bother? Just leave them all for you? Zahadrin (talk) 21:01, March 11, 2018 (UTC)

Awful white edges on transparent pictures

Please put more effort into your transparency edits than just clicking the magic wand button. There's tons of white aliasing on the edges every image you post and it looks awful. Paint Dot Net has an excellent feathering plugin you can use. 03:17, November 10, 2017 (UTC)

Theme Design

How does this wikia have its background picture cover the entire background? I have my own fanon w:c:infinite-stratos-fanon Infinite Stratos Fanon, but I don't know how to do the background trick (I call it a trick, because it wont allow me to do it). I need some help with the background, because I don't know how. (AtlantisUchiha (talk) 08:02, November 10, 2017 (UTC))

Hello there, i am wondering why do you keep changing the Shirou Kotomine page?i am editing it and then i go back after an hour or so and see that you undone all my edits, please stop doing that cause its getting really annoyingEMIYA Kun (talk) 23:06, January 2, 2018 (UTC)

Every time you edit Shirou Kotomine page, you keep deleting the FGO Servant stats and that is getting annoying. Nikonu (talk) 23:32, January 2, 2018 (UTC)

Clr Template

Why remove it without, and dont even leave a reason in the deletion notice?
Edit: A nvm, so you already have it. In that case you should leave clr as a redirect page to Template:- because of how clr is usually the name of such template. Browseitall (talk)

From Hell classification

I changed the classification of From Hell to "Anti-Unit" because the reference note for that parameter actually classifies the NP as such (specifically, "Anti-Personnel"). Was I wrong to do that?  MarqFJA (talk) 01:42, February 12, 2018 (UTC)

The original Japanese text classified it as anti-army, but the translator probably mistranslated it. Nikonu (talk) 08:17, February 12, 2018 (UTC)

Lead paragraph

There is no particular reason to split up the lead paragraph unless it is getting too large. If it is just two sentences, it just looks silly to put a line break in there. EGGS (talk) 19:24, April 29, 2018 (UTC)

Trisha Fellows

Hello, sorry to bother you, I just have a question. Seeing as you were the one who contributed this line to the Olga Marie Animusphere article:

Trisha Fellows accompanies her to the Mystic Eyes collection train. She makes an alliance with Lord El-Melloi II in order to obtain the "Mystic Eyes of Rainbow"

Do you have a source on the character of Trisha Fellows or at least where you got her family name from? I am also given to understand she is Olga's tutor or governess? The Elements also mention Imaginary Numbers being her element but no source on that either. All fictions (talk) 03:28, August 16, 2018 (UTC)

User page images

It's fine for people to use user page images so long as they don't break any other rules. There's a dedicated category to keep track of it. EGGS (talk) 19:05, October 4, 2018 (UTC)

FGO images

Is it really necessary to have all the images that include all the text over the top when there are better looking images either on the way or already available? It just clutters up all the pages. 21:50, October 23, 2018 (UTC)

Hey there, I was wondering if the picture shown here is allowed to be used freely?

Texuli (talk) 13:49, January 11, 2019 (UTC)

Hi! I believe the picture shown here is your work. Is it okay to upload this to  Wikipedia Commons? I'm not sure if it is freely licensed since the description field is empty.          CarbonatedWood (talk) 02:17, January 12, 2019 (UTC)

Shibata Katsuie

Will you also be adding his Helmless image? Zahadrin (talk) 23:37, July 8, 2019 (UTC)

Reference Code

Excuse me, but I am trying to create a reference system on my Shinza Bansho wiki that is similar to this one, and if I am correct in assuming this, you are the one who developed the code for the

section begin = >" and section end = > parts.

How exactly am I too create this. I even tried just copying your code to see how it works, putting it on the Main Encyclopedia Page Code, but it still wouldn't function.

Would you mind explaining to me how to implement the system, or at least one similar to it.

Zouken (talk) 19:04, December 24, 2019 (UTC)

I was wondering about this as well, but it is best to ask EGGS about the coding. Nikonu (talk) 12:19, December 25, 2019 (UTC)
