Seventh Singularity: Babylonia[]
Ushiwakamaru became a child of Tiamat when she was corrupted with the Chaos Tide by Kingu.[2]
She massacres the Mesopotamian populace together with the Laḫmu when they emerge from the blackened Persian Gulf. She takes Musashibou Benkei by surprise as he is defending the people of Ur from the Laḫmu. She attacks him while he's caught off-guard, and leaves him to be killed by the Laḫmu.[3]
Later, she knocks Ritsuka's party out of the air with Usumidori - Short Steps With The Heavenly Blade when they're trying to stop Bel Laḫmu from deliver the Holy Grail to Tiamat. She declares the Grail will be delivered to Tiamat, claiming humans aren't worthy of it. She then goes to kill the group. The group kill her, only for multiple Ushiwakamaru clones to suddenly appear. They all proclaim they will kill every human, especially the entire Genji clan. Romani Archaman warns the group that Ushiwakamaru cannot be killed because her Spirit Origin is part of the Chaos Tide. Ushiwakamaru boasts only a Noble Phantasm capable of gathering all the magical energy in the era can destroy the blackened sea. She and her clones then fight the group. While they fought though, the Grail was delievered to Tiamat. Ushiwakamaru calls herself a dead woman, stripped of reason and turned into being of pure instinct. She says there was always a part of her that hated humanity, and wanted to kill more than anything. When hordes of Laḫmu begin emerging, Ushiwakamaru decides to abandon her wounded body. She does so after commending the group for their efforts in slaying her, hollow victory though it may be.[1]
When the group return to the Persian Gulf, Ushiwakamaru tries to kill Mash. After dodging her attack, Mash asks her if she truly is Tiamat's slave. Ushiwakamaru replies that Tiamat's control is pleasant, so she only has to focus on ridding herself of her hate by killing everyone. As there aren't many humans reamaining, the only thing left for her is to destroy Uruk with Tiamat. She then contemplates between killing the group or making them her retainers. Since they're "friends", she contemplates turning the group into familiars fit to be Demon Gods, which she'll treat like her brother treated her. In the end though, she ultimately chooses to kill them. She mocks them for their efforts as they continue killing her and her clones. Ritsuka asks her why she wanted to kill all humans. Ushiwakamaru asks the group in turn why they fight so hard to protect humans, saying humans and the Laḫmu are the same. She then gives an example of human nature, stating how those who commit altruism will only be taken advantage of, and then dishonored by those who failed to live up to that standard. She questions why she fought and died for such creatures, and proclaims starting from scratch is the only way left. More clones of her then appear when Benkei (having survived) arrives to help the group. He grabs her when Ushiwakamaru's clones impale them both. Still alive, Benkei confesses it was anger that pushed him forward, not resolve. He tells Ushiwakamaru that her hatred of humans doesn't come from Tiamat, but was something she always felt. He was unable to bear it, and pities the loneliness she must have felt. He says the original Benkei never wanted to leave her alone, even though he couldn't save her heart. After proclaiming he cannot bear her anger, Benkei uses The Pilgrimage of the Five Hundred Arhat to disconnect her from the Chaos Tide and destroy them both. He asks her to forgive him for his long absence. Ushiwakamaru calls him a fool for always worrying about such petty things, saying there's no joy in killing a coward like him. Surprised he was even called a sage, she disappears with Benkei saying a fool will always be a fool.[4] Later on, she is mentioned to have helped Ereshkigal in rebuilding the underworld along Leonidas and Benkei.[5]
Abilities[]
In the Babylonia Singularity, due to being blackened by Tiamat's Sea of Life, Ushiwakamaru's Class was changed from Rider to Berserker. Although her appearance and Spirit Origin Signature remained the same, they can no longer be considered the same Servant.[1]
Despite defeating Benkei,[3] she gets overpowered by the combined efforts of Quetzalcoatl, Ishtar and Mash. However, as one of Tiamat's children, Ushiwakamaru has the ability to multiply in a similar manner to the Laḫmu which gives her an advantage over them. Because her Spirit Origin Signature is mixed in with Tiamat's Sea of Life, as long as a finger or single strand of her hair survives, a new Ushiwakamru clone will grow from it. Dr. Roman also believes that even if she got hit by a Noble Phantasm that could completely obliterate them, she wouldn't stay dead. Therefore, in order to defeat her and stop her from multiplying, the Sea of Life must be destroyed first. Not an easy task, considering Ushiwakamaru said only a Noble Phantasm capable of gathering all the Magical Energy of the entire era would be able to destroy the Sea of Life. In other words, only the Bands of Light in the sky can rival Tiamat.[1]
Furthermore, the more of her clones are spawned over time, the closer she'll merge with Tiamat. Through fusion from self-replication, via the melting of hundreds of selves together, her hatred towards humans keeps increasing. Should all that hatred flow from her entrails, she'd become a blood-crazed warrior stronger than Gorgon. Surprisingly, she's ultimately stopped by Benkei, whose The Pilgrimage of the Five Hundred Arhat was able to peel off her Spirit Origin signature out of Tiamat's Authority, therefore stopping the Chaos Tide of respawning more of her clones.[4]
Noble Phantasm[]
In this form, Ushiwakamaru retains the same Noble Phantasm as her Rider counterpart, Wandering Tales of Shana-oh.[1]
