Yuuko Andou (安藤 由子, Andō Yūko?) is a student at Reien Girl's Academy in Kara no Kyoukai. She is mentioned in the second segment of Kara no Kyoukai - The Garden of sinners - recalled out summer - Future Gospel - Extra Chorus.

Background[]
Attending high school in 1998, Yuuko was best friends with Risu Miyazuki and was acquainted with Fujino Asagami. She had a troubled personal life, finding her mother dead, losing her family, and being saddled with debt. Unknowing of this Risu tried to get her to join a suicide pact with her, Risu believing all prospects of the future to be filthy. Yuuko did not agree, telling her "No matter how much it may hurt at times, I like to believe this world is beautiful." She had told the same thing to Fujino as well while Fujino was troubled by the various things wrong in her life.
Due to the influence of Kirie Fujou's powers, Yuuko later committed suicide on the last day of summer by jumping from the top of the Fujou Building on the last day of summer in 1998. She did not leave a suicide note, like the seven other victims, but Risu later found out about her home life and assumed that to be the impetus along with her urging of their suicide pact.

Despite her troubled personal life, Yuuko was positive about the future. She generally just smiled at Risu's words and lightly chided her.

Yuuko's death leaves a great impact on Risu, driving her to attempt to commit suicide as well in October 1998. She is helped through her issues by Fujino, believing Yuuko's words for them to be a prayer for them.
