ZahhakWP (ザッハークWP, Zahhāku?), Class Name Lancer (ランサー, Ransā?), is a Lancer-class Servant summoned during the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.
Profile[]
Identity[]
An evil king recorded in the ancient Persian epic ShahnamehWP. He is said to have lived in a desert kingdom with his father, King Mardas, and always possessed a craving for power until one day the evil spirit IblisWP (イブリースWP, Iburīsu?) set him on the path of evil. He would later cause the death of his father and take the throne just as Iblis had manipulated him into doing. The spirit then disguised itself as the cook for Zahhak, who had become king.
It would serve him dishes so delicious they were unbelievable, and one day Zahhak wished to reward the cook. The spirit then said it wanted to kiss the shoulders of the king. And when it did, a snake sprouted from each shoulder. When they tried to cut them off, another grew in its stead and became violent.
The spirit then told him that they could not be cut off or killed, and that the only way to quell them was to feed each one a human brain, every day. And that's what he did. Every day, he chose two people and fed their brains to his shoulder snakes, and he continued to rule as the terrible Serpent King.
He is considered to be a later incarnation of the immortal evil dragon Aži DahākaWP.[4]

Abilities[]
In the World of Magecraft, he is believed to have once taken the form of a Dragon himself. While he was noted to still be human when alive, he was considered a fearsome being. He is capable of creating two large snakes from his shoulders known as the predatory dragons, ArnavāzWP and ShahrnāzWP, named after the princesses that married him in life.
They function as autonomous "mouths" for him to be able to feed without needing to move from his castle and he is capable of seeing through its eyes due to its nature as an extension of himself. Leonardo da Vinci postulates they may even possess half of the power of Aži Dahāka.[4][5][6]
He is also capable of creating a projection of himself to be able to act when necessary, without needing to move. Due to being a mere shadow of the true Zahhak, Medusa's Cybele is shown to be completely ineffective against him. Although it is noted that it may have a chance on working on his real self even if it would be much less precise and require the usage of a Command Spell to even work on him at all.[6]
In addition, he is shown to be able to bind others via contracts. Should the signee choose to accept his contract, the ink in which they sign it is Zahhak's own snake venom which will constantly enforce the decree within their own blood and take their life the moment the contract's conditions are violated. Leonardo da Vinci and Mash Kyrielight muse that this ability could be some form of Noble Phantasm.[7]
Noble Phantasm[]
Zahhak's Noble Phantasms are Bēvar Asp and Aži Dahāka.

Creation and Conception[]
