Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
Realm of the Thanatos Impulse: Traum[]
The lifeform Specimen E located in Area 51, after nursing a hatred of humanity because it had been experimented on for 100 years, used Zhang Jue to create the Traum Singularity.[3] Within the Singularity, Zhang Jue faked a loyalty to Kriemhild.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]
To make sure the singularity will continue even if it somehow stopped Zhang Jue created duplication of himself while the original stayed behind to guard the entrance to Area 51.
Abilities[]
Zhang Jue is a Shenxian, a corpse-free immortal being of the lowest level in the Xian realm. Due to being a corpse, he can't receive Magical Energy from his Master. This is why he is forced to create clones of himself during the Traum Singularity. However, to produce duplicates in that manner, he is forced to turn his real body into an automated system incapable of evolving or defending itself.[3]
Sherlock Holmes states that as formidable as Zhang Jue's Noble Phantasm and Spells are, his intelligence is a far greater threat. Due to this, he considers Jue Chaldea's primary target in the Traum Singularity. While Holmes initially considered using some sort of Magecraft to render him unconscious, neutralize him, and then bring him back to the Righteous Realm, ultimately, he decided that they needed to completely eliminate any chance of him using his intellect against them. To accomplish this mission, Holmes requires the help of Xu Fu, another sage arts practitioner.[8]
Combat[]
Zhang Jue is an excellent leader to his troops. In the Traum Singularity, his troops vary tremenously in terms of quality, and he cannot fill those gaps on his own. As a result, he frequently loses the skirmishes, but he's also quick to retreat to safety when this occurs. In the ongoing war between the three realms, Jue himself never suffered so much as a scratch. Though he seems not to be particularly skilled in personal combat, he makes up for this with sheer adaptability.[8]
When Zhang Jue captured Ritsuka Fujimaru, Sherlock Holmes and Kadoc Zemlupus were forced to retreat. Holmes states that if they fought Zhang Jue, they would be simply throwing their lives away. As long as he was around, it would be next to impossible for them to sneak undetected.[5]
Zhang Jue is able to match Bradamante, Don Quixote, Johanna, and Sherlock Holmes simultaneously.[11]
Magecraft[]
Zhang Jue is known far and wide for his exceptional skill in Taoist arts.[5] He uses Fangshi Magecraft, though not much.[12]
- Yellow Turban Puppet Soldier: Zhang Jue uses about one hundred of puppets as Familiars.[10] During the Traum Singularity, he formed a surveillance network with them covering the entire Revenge Realm.[7]
- Mystic Codes: Zhang Jue was willing to reward the Servant who killed Ritsuka Fujimaru with one of his enhanced Mystic Codes.[7]
- Taoist defenses: Depending on the taoist art he uses, Zhang Jue's defenses can be airtight. Due to this, sniping him would be far too risky and likely to fail even with a first-rate Archer. To assassinate him, performing an ambush is the only sound conclusion.[8]
- Cloning technique: Zhang Jue creates clones of himself. He then makes them forget they are duplicates to prevent them from losing their sense of self and disappearing.[9][3]
- Xian incantation: Jue's trump card is an incantation that's normally used to request protection from Xians. However, he uses it to transform himself into a godlike being. In this state, he becomes extraordinarily powerful. For example, Bradamante needs to go full defense and receive a boost from Johanna to keep up with him. Sugitani Zenjuubou tries sniping him with a rifle, but the bullets are easily blocked and they are killed by Jue's counterattack right after. Don Quixote uses this opening to weaken him with Triste Suave Alonso Quijano and Bradamante then kills him with Bouclier de Atlante.[11]
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Item Construction (B Rank)
- Territory Creation (B Rank)
Personal Skills[]
- General of Heaven (B- Rank): The leadership and direction ability necessary to stand above hundreds of thousands of subjects. This Skill is analog to Charisma, mainly displayed as military coordination capabilities. The Skill has a minor rank drop due to the effects of the sickness preventing him from fighting until the end and the Yellow Turban Rebellion initially degrading due to internal betrayals.[1]
- Great Teacher (A Rank): It's a combination of multiple abilities: folk medicine's treatment abilities, a religious leader's ability to understand people, conversation techniques, sermon abilities, etc.[1]
- Way of the Taiping (EX Rank)
Noble Phantasm[]
Zhang Jue's Noble Phantasm is The Azure Sky is Already Dead, the Yellow Sky will Soon Rise. Performs a large-scale anti-army attack with storm, lightning, hail, and fog, among other weapons of the Zhang brothers' weather manipulation sorcery. He can also combine this effect with his Yellow Turban manipulation Spell to mobilize Puppet Soldiers and farmers, allowing him to fight the Han loyalist army face-to-face.[1]
